About Us

We are Jon and Jenny Tully and we bought Okel Tor Mine from Nick and Greg in the summer of 2023. We had been looking for somewhere really special for a few years and we knew that Okel Tor was perfect for us as soon as we saw it. As well as the unique history, we were drawn by the beautiful location as we both love the outdoors – we sail, kayak, ride, and walk. Jenny is a riding instructor and Jon is an RYA instructor.

We met at London University and have worked in various roles in shipping and the food industry respectively, before joining forces to run a boarding house in an independent school. On leaving the school Jon took a year out to complete a traditional wooden boat building course in Lyme Regis.

We are looking forward to being custodians of the site and continuing Nick and Greg’s legacy, working with Historic England, Natural England and Tamar Valley National Landscape to preserve this exceptional and delightful place.

We live on site in the old boiler house, so we're on-hand to answer any questions and we'd be delighted to tell you more about the mine's history. That said, we'll leave you in peace to enjoy your holiday!
